Lonnie Dye completed the life-sized carving of Blackburnian Warblers in 1997. He was the winner of the 1997 songbird carving competition at the Louisiana Wildfowl Festival. Lonnie Dye began carving birds in the late 1970's and has competed and judged at scores of carving competitions across the United States. Lonnie works and competes in both miniature and life-size categories, preferring active, aggressive songbirds and birds of prey.
