Materials/Techniques: Made mostly of broadcloth, with cut and fused shapes to make the flags.
Artist's Statement: colorful International Signal Flags are used to transmit line of sight messages with each flag as a letter in the alphabet. Some times a single flag used alone, signifies a message, such as the red X (letter V) at the beginning of this message, which denotes that assistance is needed. The border, top, bottom, and sides, is the word Alzheimers. The message which, by the way, is inscribed on the back of the quilt, says: "Require assistance for a Cure - Send Money.
