Check out this great item that I found online.
“My Country” is a red, white and blue cotton quilt measuring 52 by 71inches, and featuring the split Ohio Star block alternating with log cabin blocks of blue or white. With eight fabrics of each color, the interior is professionally quilted with meandering stars. The outer border of red is custom quilted in the “Star Spangled Banner” pattern.
The blocks were sewn and assembled by the Heritage Ranch Nifty Needles members. Shelia Relyea donated professional custom quilting.
“My Country” is an adaptation of The Fons and Porter Quilts of Valor pattern, designed by Cheryl Miller, featured in the May/June 2014 issue of Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting.
Nifty Needles is pleased to donate two quilts for the Scramble for Soldiers scheduled for October 12th at Heritage Ranch.
