Santa's Helpers -

14"x 14 1/4" “Santa’s Helpers” features an adorable hand-painted scene of Santa’s elves stitching on a quilt. Painted by Mary Judge, a well-known local artist, the scene is based on a pattern by Prudy Vannier and used with her permission, but Mary added her personal magic. The additional fabric strips, in Christmas colors, were pieced and quilted by Julie Roberge.

This piece may be gently hand washed using a mild unscented detergent. Do not use fabric softener. Washing will however, soften the painted surface. If pressing, press from back or use a press cloth.

Mary Judge has been involved with Decorative (tole) Painting since 1984. She has a special fondness for Prudy Vannier's elf designs. Thanks to Prudy for allowing her to adapt the elf designs. Mary says she is "an old seamstress" but a "new quilter."

Julie Roberge began quilting while living in Colorado and has picked up again here in Virginia with friends who encouraged her to return to the craft for her extended family.
